Avant Garden by China Glaze for Spring 2013

Happy Monday! I am a bit late to the party on sharing these, as I got them several weeks ago, but I JUST got through wearing the last one to test wear and such! I am loving this collection! I am going to show you 6 from it, and all are 2 coats unless otherwise noted, and all wore great working in an office doing things like typing and filing and such!

First, we have Mimosas Before Mani’s. OK, I admit I do not really get the name, and I also think it is a bit silly. BUT the shade is great! Amanda would be so proud of me! :) It is a peachy shade with a GORGEOUS gold shimmer. It was a bit thick but applied well and leveled out nicely!

Of course, click on full size to appreciate the shimmer!

Next Up, Snap My Dragon. A pink-leaning red, it also has a lovely pink shimmer. Overall I liked this more than I thought I would, however I do not LOVE it because of brush stroke issues.

Snap My Dragon

Passion for Petals is a warm pink creme that is super glossy. I love anything pink…it has a BIT too much orange for me but that is only my personal opinion! This will look great on warm skin tones.

The last 3 are definitely my faves! I am surprised that 2 of them are blues…I think I am falling in love with blues lately! Sunday Fundy is a bright blue…not quite neon and SUPER glossy. I wore this for 3 days – I could not bear to take it off!

Sunday Fundy

Fancy Pants is more of a “blurple” with an awesome purple shimmer. I liked this sooooo much more than I thought I would. I absolutely love it! The shimmer is more subtle on the nail than in the bottle which is my only complaint. I urge you to also note the shimmer in the bottle!

And last, but CERTAINLY not least, the one I may have loved the most (or at least tied with Sunday Fundy) – Budding Romance. A yellow-leaning green crelly, this is the only one that required 3 coats. I usually don’t like greens so I think it was the yellow undertones that made me love it!

This whole collection overall is a win for me. Do you have any yet? Which ones do you love!

Thanks so much for reading! xotara

  1. I caved in about a month ago, I have to say that I love every single one of the polishes in this collection apart from ‘Keep Calm, Paint On’, but I think the bottle I had been sent was actually defective !

  2. I’m so on the fence about Mimosa’s (and what’s with the wonky apostrophe usage?). I love corals and shimmer, but when I saw it in the bottle in person, I was underwhelmed. And then I see swatches and I’m all ooh’ing and ahh’ing. Oh the inner conflict.

    • Yeah it doesn’t look like much in the bottle – definitely better on the nail. I feel the exact same way about Essie Mojito green or whatever it was called.

  3. Yes! Come over to the blue side! Sunday Fundy is super gorgeous, and so shiny too! Budding Romance is probably the one I was most excited to see, and that was before I knew it was a crelly–now I can’t wait! :D

  5. I picked 3 from this collection that I wanted most and was so on the fence with Budding Romace. It’s such a “fugly” color … I know it would look horrible on me, but I don’t have anything quite like it. I’ll probably end up picking it up if I come across it again just for ease of mind :)
